Spain blogs I follow
Becoming Sevillana – Fellow inglesa Kim has lived in Sevilla since 2009, and is now more sevillana than most girls who were born in El Virgen del Rocío Hospital. She's a big fan of feria and Semana Santa, and her blog is a great source of information on events in the city and local bands.
Gee, Cassandra – Cliché-free blog full of witty insights into life in Madrid as an American expat, travels around Spain and the world. Cassandra is an English teacher with some great posts about the true nature of TEFL...
Las Calles de Barcelona – Fellow Brit Angela lives in Barcelona and shares great places to eat, shop and stay.
Latitude 41– Justine is from California but now calls Barcelona home. Latitude 41 is her well-designed blog, full of great photos and useful tips on the Catalan capital and the surrounding area.
Mooching Around Spain – Spain specialist travel writer Annie Bennett's blog which charts her Spanish sojourns and links to her press articles.
Not Hemingway's Spain – Currently on hiatus while blogger Zach is away in South Korea, this site is a must-read for anyone heading to Valencia or the Comunidad Valenciana.
Piccavey – Molly is based in Granada, and her site is full of information about visiting the home of the Alhambra and other towns and cities around Andalucía.
Spanish Sabores – Lauren has lived in both Sevilla and Madrid, and currently runs the highly recommendable Madrid Food Tour and Devour Barcelona. As you might expect from the name, you'll find plenty of posts to make you hungry, but Lauren also writes about visiting Spain and about life here.
Sunshine & Siestas – Originally from Chicago, Cat has been in Sevilla for seven years. Her blog is full of no-holds-barred information on life in Spain, as well as where to eat in her adopted city and great places to visit around the country.
I'm always looking for more blog recommendations, so if you have/know of a Spain-related blog worth a read, leave me the link below!
Year abroad blogs
The Curious Incident of the Brit Teaching in Spain – Just like me 10 years ago, English girl Mish spent her year abroad from university as an auxiliar in a school in Andalucía (in Málaga, to be precise). Amusing (and sometimes practical) chronicles from her academic year in Spain.
The Treasured Notebook – Georgina is currently on her year abroad in the non-standard Brit abroad destination of Huesca. Also a language assistant, she's getting to know the Aragonese lifestyle and sharing it with readers. She's also sharing her year abroad experiences here on Oh hello, Spain.
